Fisher Hill Bridge to Pitt
|
Mike Garrison, Ralph Nafziger, Mary Coleman, and John Stolting joined Jeanette and I on a trip to the Columbia Gorge for one of the Spring Hikes scheduled by the Klickitat Trail Conservancy on the Klickitat Trail. Our first stop was in Lyle for a pancake breakfast at the Lyle Lions Club, before assembling with the rest of the group at the Klickitat Trailhead for the hike of the 8-mile section from Fisher Hill Bridge to Pitt.

We started spotting wildflowers right away, starting with Grass Widows, then several Parsleys, including the Columbia Desert Parsley. Next we spotted Prairie Stars, Gold Stars and a few Yellow Bells.

| As to birds, Bald Eagles probably got the most attention, secondly would have been Lewis's Woodpecker. And a Mourning Cloak Butterfly got our lunchtime attention.
