Western Sandpipers are only slightly larger than Least Sandpipers and have black legs rather than yellow. Western Sandpipers breed from Northern Alaska to Siberia, winter all along the Pacific Coast. The top photo shows the breeding plumage, the lower photo the non-breeding plumage.
