Family:Iris
Genus / Species:Iris tenax
Notes:Also commonly called Oregon Flag, and Toughleaf Iris. Native Americans braided the tough leaves to make strong snares. The flower can vary in shades of white, yellow and purple. Iris tenax can be distinguished from other species by the location of the ovary at the base of the petals.
