Some 25 hikers showed up for this Chemeketan hike led by Ann Hernandez to Silver Falls State Park. Good weather and the opportunity to hike a little known trail, the Perimeter Trail, worked together to attract a large group.

| Anne leads out from North Falls Parking Lot We began the hike at the North Falls Parking Lot, crossing the creek and under the highway bridge toward Upper North Falls.

| the largest fir tree along the trail Turning off on the Perimeter Trail we took this scenic route over several small bridges and a good number of switchbacks some three miles plus to a junction with the Rachett Ridge Trail.

| Anne points out our location on the map A combination of the Rachett Ridge Trail and roads took us to the Ranch area, where thanks to Anne's impeccable planning, we stopped for lunch basking in warm sunshine. Unnamed trails and fire roads took us back to the Perimeter Trail to complete our loop. A pleasant stop at the South Falls Lodge for coffee capped of our day.
