Location  Rush Creek Marsh Birding

Where:  Novato, California

Rush Creek Marsh is a part the 300 plus acre Rush Creek Open SpacePreserve, an amazing natural sanctuary in the hustle bustle of the greater San Francisco Bay area. It's location right across the road from the Novato RV Park has worked out well for me a couple of times now, the first being the occasion of Tony & Maggie's Wedding in October of 2011, and on this trip as a stopover on our route to the Santa Cruise area. Miles of trails here are used by the locals for running, hiking and walking their dogs. I enjoy the hiking trails too, but the big plus is the birding opportunities. There is a nice combination of marsh, grassland, and oak covered hills to give a variety in habitat and birds. I spent two hours here this morning birding, but the time flew so fast it seemed only minutes.
