We got even an earlier start on this day as we knew it would be a long one leaving camp at 6:00AM. We were at the junction of Highways 78 and 86 by 9:00 and to Calipatria by noon. But the heat and the miles, 60 miles, had taken their toll and we were spent. We opted for a room at the Calipatria Inn.

We made the final push of 27 miles back to my mom's the next morning. Mileage for the total loop was 286 miles.
