We made our first stop at around 14 miles at Wister State Wildlife Area. For us it was a potty stop, but judging from the hunters there it looks like it exists for bird hunting. Which always strikes me as a little strange, a protected area for birds to live so you can kill 'em.

Our next stop was Calipatria with the obligatory stop to see the world's tallest flag pole. It was almost 1:00 when we arrived at Wiest Lake County Park at 39 miles. We try to finish our riding in the morning to avoid the heat in the afternoon.
