Michael and trailhead sign

Michael, my son and our webmaster, developed Cascade Ramblings, and so knows first hand the computer side of the business, so to speak. On this hike he got to experience the other side, all the 'hard work' of hiking on beautiful scenic trails in tranquil settings to gather photos and information for Cascade Ramblings.

Michael with Lobster Mushrooms

An abundance of a variety of mushrooms caused us to pause often and inspect. Besides the Lobster Mushroom, as shown in the photo, we saw, photographed, and identified Short-stemmed Russula and Bleeding Cap mushrooms.

Jeanette and North Fork River

The North Fork of the Middle Fork of the Willamette River is an Oregon Scenic Waterway and is also managed for wild trout with restrictions for fly angling only with barbless hooks.
