Joining Jeanette and I for a great hike in the sunshine on the Oregon coast were Elkton friends Janet Schaller and Joan Smith.

| Janet, Jeanette, and Joan Starting at the Oregon Dunes Overlook we took out cross-country over the dunes towards Tahkenitch Creek. The dunes are fascinating in that they are constantly changing and are markedly different each time we hike them.

| Joan explains shearing sand We eventually joined up with the Tahkenitch Creek Loop Trail, and after a pause for lunch and some time to watch a pair of Bald Eagles, we continued on the trail to the beach. At the beach we headed north until we found the Oregon Dunes Overlook Trail, which we took back to the parking lot.
